PitchHighway vs Vanido (2026): Vanido appears discontinued, what to use instead

Updated . Facts about Vanido are as of this date; the sources are at the end of the page.

Vanido gave you daily vocal exercises fitted to your range. PitchHighway builds a practice journey from a song that you upload. That is the one-sentence difference. But there is a more important fact first: as of 2026-10-15, Vanido appears to be discontinued. The sources are at the end of this page.

Is Vanido still available?

As of 2026-10-15, we found no way to get Vanido:

We found no official shutdown notice, so the exact end date is not certain. The rest of this page describes Vanido as it was, from an archived copy of its site and from press coverage.

The core difference

Vanido was an iOS singing-coach app (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) from Vanido Inc. It launched in early 2017. It measured your vocal range and gave you a few exercises each day for breathing, pitch, ear, range and consistency. It fitted each exercise to your range and to your past results, and it showed real-time pitch feedback while you sang. The free tier gave 3 exercises a day, and a paid subscription unlocked the rest. Its site also described a "Sing Favorite Songs" feature: a repetition-based technique powered by Apple Music and Spotify.

PitchHighway starts from a song. You upload the song that you want to learn, as an MP3 file or a YouTube link of up to 10 minutes. PitchHighway then builds a journey for that song: warmups in the song's key, drills for the notes that you cannot reach yet, phrase-by-phrase practice, and a full-song run with real-time pitch feedback. It also has general pitch-training journeys and practice modes that are not tied to a song.

Thus Vanido was a daily exercise habit. PitchHighway is a plan to learn one song, with general exercises around it.

Switching from Vanido

Expect these differences when you move from Vanido to PitchHighway:

  1. You start from a song. Upload an MP3 file or a YouTube link, up to 10 minutes long. There is no large song catalog, but a small built-in set of training songs exists.
  2. Processing takes a few minutes. PitchHighway separates the vocal, analyzes it and builds the journey. The app shows the status and tells you when the song is ready.
  3. For general practice, the Practice tab has note practice, pitch matching, scale runs, interval training and a guided breathing exercise. Note practice and breathing are always available; the other modes unlock after you map your vocal range. These sessions count toward your daily streak.
  4. Make a free account at pitchhighway.com/register. You do not need a download. A free browser account currently includes 1 lifetime song upload.
  5. The free tools need no account. Try the vocal range test, the vocal warm-up or the note practice tool.
  6. Premium adds more uploads (up to 5 each day and 50 each month) and all journeys. On iOS, Apple bills the subscription. On the web, Stripe bills it.
