## What it does

A free, no-signup test that tells you which voice type you are: **soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, or bass**. You sing your range — lowest comfortable note to highest — and it classifies you from the measured result rather than from a questionnaire.

Runs entirely in your browser. No account, no install.

## How it works

You slide your voice up and down on an "ahhh" while a neural pitch-detection model tracks you **on-device, in the browser**. Your voice is never uploaded. From your lowest and highest comfortable notes it derives the range, then maps that range onto the standard voice-type classification.

It uses the same range detection as the vocal range test at https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range — the difference is what it emphasizes: this page answers "what am I?", that one answers "what can I sing?".

## A caveat worth knowing

Voice type is a convention, not a fact about your body. Classification depends on range, tessitura (where your voice is comfortable, not just where it can reach), and timbre. Two singers with identical ranges can sit in different types. Treat the result as a useful label, not a verdict — and note that your range can change with training.
