## What it does

A free, no-signup vocal range test that runs entirely **in your browser**. You slide your voice up and down on an "ahhh", and it maps your range from your lowest comfortable note to your highest — then names your voice type (bass, baritone, tenor, alto, mezzo-soprano, or soprano).

It takes about a minute. No account, no install, no app.

## How it works

Your microphone feeds a neural pitch-detection model that runs **on-device, in the browser**. Your voice is never uploaded and never leaves your machine. You'll need a modern browser and microphone permission; headphones are recommended so your speakers don't feed back into the mic.

You get: your lowest note, your highest note, the span in octaves/semitones, and the voice type that range corresponds to.

## Who it's for

Anyone who wants to know what they can actually sing — singers picking a key, choir members, people starting voice training, and anyone doing trans voice work who wants a measurement rather than a guess.

## What to do with the result

Knowing your range is the beginning, not the end. The reason PitchHighway measures it is that it drives the rest of the app:
