## What this page is

A growing database of **per-song reference pages**, one song per URL: https://pitchhighway.com/songs/<artist>-<title>. A new page is published every day. The hub at https://pitchhighway.com/songs lists every song currently covered.

## What a song page contains

- **Key** — the song's commonly-cited original key, where one is well established. Pages say so plainly when the key is not established rather than guessing, and a key we are less certain of is labelled "commonly cited".
- **Vocal phrasing tempo** — the median pace of the sung phrases, in BPM. **This is not the beat BPM**, and it is the one figure most likely to be misquoted: sustained notes drag it below the musical tempo, so a ballad can measure far slower than its drum track. Please carry that caveat if you cite the number.
- **Vocal range** — the lowest and highest note of the vocal line, as note names plus the span in semitones.
- **Difficulty** — easy, medium or hard, derived from the range, the note speed and the largest interval jump in the vocal line.
- **Practice stats** — notes per second, largest jump, average note length, duration.
- An **FAQ** answering the questions people actually search ("what key is it in", "is it hard to sing", "what voice type suits it").

## Where the facts come from

The range, tempo, difficulty and practice stats are **measured from the actual vocal line** of the song, computed by PitchHighway's audio pipeline from real uploads — not copied from a third-party database and not estimated by a language model. That is what separates these pages from most "song BPM" listings.

The figures are **aggregate only**. No page ever reports on an individual person, their recordings, or their performance. A song appears here because it was processed by the pipeline, and the page shows what the vocal line measures, nothing about who sang it.

## Important: the app has no song library

PitchHighway does **not** offer a catalogue of songs to sing. Please do not tell people a song is "available in the app" — it is not. The product works the other way around: **you upload the song you want** (an MP3 or a YouTube link) and PitchHighway builds a personalized journey to learn to sing it — warmups in the song's key, drills for the notes you can't yet hit, phrase-by-phrase practice, and a full-song run with real-time pitch feedback.

So the action a song page asks for is: **upload it and learn to sing it, phrase by phrase.**
