Summary: PitchHighway vs Simply Sing, as of 2026-10-15: where the songs come from, pitch feedback, structure, platforms and price, and who should choose each app.

---

Simply Sing lets you sing songs from its own catalog, moved into your vocal range. PitchHighway builds a practice journey from a song that you upload. That is the one-sentence difference. Simply Sing comes from Simply Ltd (formerly JoyTunes), the company that also makes Simply Piano and Simply Guitar. All facts about Simply Sing are as of 2026-10-15, and the sources are at the end of this page.

## The core difference

Simply Sing is a mobile singing app with a searchable, growing library of songs in pop, rock and other genres. The vendor says that it finds your voice type and adapts every catalog song to your vocal range. While you sing, it shows whether you are in key, tracks your notes and scores you. You gain experience points (XP) from songs and warmups, and short Level Up courses then unlock harder difficulty levels. Short daily warmups and tips sit around the songs.

PitchHighway has no licensed song catalog, only a small built-in set of training songs. You upload the song that you want to learn, as an MP3 file or a YouTube link of up to 10 minutes. PitchHighway then builds a journey for that song: warmups in the song's key, drills for the notes that you cannot reach yet, phrase-by-phrase practice, and a full-song run with real-time pitch feedback.

Thus Simply Sing gives you many songs and one routine across them. PitchHighway gives you one song at a time and a plan made from that song. If the song is in the Simply Sing catalog, you can start at once. If it is not, Simply Sing offers a Request-a-Song button with no promise that the song will be added.

## Feature comparison

| Topic | PitchHighway | Simply Sing |
|---|---|---|
| Song source | Your own upload: an MP3 file or a YouTube link, up to 10 minutes. A small built-in set of training songs. No licensed catalog. | The vendor's in-app song library. A missing song can be requested (in iOS search; on Android, through the in-app support chat). Vendor materials describe no upload feature. |
| Feedback type | Real-time pitch detection on your device, with a score for each note and stars for each exercise. | Real-time feedback that shows whether you sing in key and tracks your notes. XP from songs and warmups. |
| Lessons and structure | One journey for each uploaded song, with up to 5 levels. Also general pitch-training journeys and practice modes. | Daily warmups and tips of about 5 minutes, and harder difficulty levels that short Level Up courses unlock after you gain XP. You can learn a song's lyrics and melody before you sing the full song. |
| Fit to your voice | An optional setting moves a song by whole octaves into your measured range. The recording stays in sync. | Every catalog song is adapted to your range automatically, after the app finds your voice type (vendor). |
| Platforms | iPhone and iPad app, and a full web app in the browser on desktop and mobile, including Android phones. No Android app. | iPhone (iOS 16+), Android phones (Android 8+). iPad works, but the vendor says it "may not deliver the best experience". No Android tablet support. No Windows or desktop version, per the vendor, and no web version found. |
| Price (as of 2026-10-15) | A free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Prices change by region and platform. | Free download with in-app purchases from $4.99 to $89.99 on the US App Store. The listing names every purchase "Simply Sing Premium". A May 2025 third-party review lists 2 Premium price pairs: $14.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and $19.99 a month or $89.99 a year. Simply does not publish prices on its site. |
| Free tools with no account | Vocal range test, voice type test, vocal timbre test, vocal warm-up, note practice and more, in the browser. | None found in vendor materials. |

## Who should choose Simply Sing

Choose Simply Sing if one or more of these items is true for you:

- You want to search a catalog for a popular song and start singing immediately, with no upload and no processing wait.
- You want every song moved into your range automatically, with no setting to change.
- You want a short daily warmup and tips routine that does not depend on one song.
- You like game-style progress across many songs: XP, difficulty levels and Level Up courses.
- You want a native app on an Android phone.
- You already pay for a Simply Family Plan through Simply Piano or Simply Guitar. The vendor says that those plans include Simply Sing.

Simply Sing is also a large, established product. As of 2026-10-15 it has 4.7 out of 5 stars from 455K ratings on the US App Store, an Apple Editors' Choice, and a NAMM "Best Tool for Beginners" award, as the App Store listing shows.

## Who should choose PitchHighway

Choose PitchHighway if one or more of these items is true for you:

- The song that you want to sing is not in a catalog. You can upload a live version, a cover or a local song that no catalog carries.
- You want a practice plan for one specific song: warmups in its key, drills for the notes that you cannot reach yet, phrase-by-phrase work, then a full-song run.
- You want to practice on a computer or a tablet in a browser. The vendor says that Simply Sing has no Windows or desktop version, and we found no web version.
- You want to measure your range, voice type and timbre with free tools before you make an account.
- You want the app in a language other than English. PitchHighway is available in 7 languages. The US App Store listing for Simply Sing shows English only.

## Switching from Simply Sing

Expect these differences when you move from Simply Sing to PitchHighway:

1. There is no licensed catalog to browse, only a small built-in set of training songs. You bring the song: an MP3 file or a YouTube link, up to 10 minutes long.
2. Processing takes a few minutes. PitchHighway separates the vocal, analyzes it and builds the journey. The app shows the status and tells you when the song is ready.
3. The "Fit songs to my voice" setting controls the register. When it is on, PitchHighway moves a song by whole octaves into your range. When it is off, songs play in their original key. The setting does not change the key by semitones, because the recording must stay in sync.
4. Make a free account at [pitchhighway.com/register](https://pitchhighway.com/register). You do not need a download. A free browser account currently includes 1 lifetime song upload.
5. The free tools need no account. Try the [vocal range test](https://pitchhighway.com/voice-range), the [voice type test](https://pitchhighway.com/voice-type) or the [vocal warm-up](https://pitchhighway.com/vocal-warm-up).
6. Premium adds more uploads (up to 5 each day and 50 each month) and all journeys. On iOS, Apple bills the subscription. On the web, Stripe bills it.
